About the instructor
Shelly is a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics and has a passion for helping athletes and active individuals achieve optimal health and peak performance at all stages of life. She seeks to explain the what’s, when’s, why’s, and how’s of nutrition through evidence-based, yet approachable education and holistic practice that meets the needs of the individual. In addition to authoring for My Sport Dietitian, Shelly works as a weight management and lifestyle dietitian at PRO Sports Club in Bellevue, WA. Prior positions include nutrition counseling at the Lifelong AIDS Alliance and working with triathletes as an intern at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.Educations & Associations: M.S. in Sport Nutrition, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Professional affiliations include Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), Professionals in Nutrition for Exercise and Sport (PINES), Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA), Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Dietetic Practice Group (SCAN).
